Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Crack Down On Shops Selling Fake Puma Products, Goods Worth ₹8 Lakh Seized
Pimpri-Chinchwad, April 1, 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police has intensified its crackdown on the sale of counterfeit branded goods, taking action against shops allegedly selling fake products of Puma in the Pimpri area.
According to officials, the police had earlier raided a shop named Vicky Footwear in Pimpri-Chinchwad after receiving information about the sale of counterfeit Puma shoes and slippers. The action was initiated by the crime branch following complaints about fake branded merchandise being sold to customers.
In a fresh operation conducted on Tuesday, the Crime Branch Unit 1 raided another shop, Legends Choice, located in Pimpri Market. During the raid, police seized counterfeit Puma T-shirts and track pants worth approximately ₹8.06 lakh.
The action was taken based on a complaint filed by representatives of Puma, who alerted authorities about the alleged sale of fake products under their brand name. Officials said such counterfeit goods not only violate intellectual property laws but also mislead consumers.
In connection with the case, Pimpri Police have registered an FIR against Ismail Istikhar Khan (31) under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Copyright Act. Further investigation is underway.
