Pimpri Chinchwad Police takes action against motorists driving under influence of alcohol
Pimpri Chinchwad: The Traffic Branch of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate had conducted a special Drunk and Drive campaign on the occasion of Dhulivandan against drivers who drink alcohol and drive dangerously. The campaign was implemented as numerous accidents happened during the Holi festival due to drinking and driving.
During the campaign, the Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Branch filed Drink and Drive cases against motorists who drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol within the limits of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. Pimpri-Chinchwad police took action against 66 people.
“On the occasion of Dhulivandan we took action against citizens in the Drink and Drive case. The action was taken against 66 against drink and drive cases. Whereas, under Motor Vehicle Act these people will be given notice and will be made to attend the court proceedings,” said senior police inspector Satish Mane.
