Pimpri: A model aimed at raising public awareness about the overuse of plastic has been installed in the main administrative building of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. The model, named “Ashecha Kiran,” was created by two students from the English Medium School in Bopkhel, under the guidance of Principal Sushma Pathare and art teacher Mehboob Mulla.

The students, Anmol Borde and Ovi Thopete, used plastic bottles to create an attractive model, which caught the attention of Deputy Commissioner Ravikiran Ghodke, who inspected it and praised the students. Nikhil Ekbote of the Akanksha Foundation was also present on the occasion.

In the 21st century, the world is facing serious challenges like global warming, and excessive use of plastic is one of them. The model created by the students aims to convey the message that if everyone carries a cloth bag and their own spoon for eating, the use of plastic can be reduced significantly. It also emphasizes the importance of recycling plastic bottles, planters and containers to help compensate for the losses caused by overuse of plastic.

“The model conveys a powerful message that can help make our environment and our earth truly green again,” said Deputy Commissioner Ravikiran Ghodke.
