Pimpri-Chinchwad: Sangvi–Bopodi Flyover Renamed ‘Sarkar Shitole Setu’, Beautification Adds New Identity to Area
Pimpri, April 7, 2026: The Sangvi–Bopodi flyover over the Mula River has been officially renamed ‘Sarkar Shitole Setu’, with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation inaugurating newly completed illumination and beautification works, enhancing the visual appeal and identity of the area.
The inauguration and naming ceremony was carried out at the hands of Mayor Ravi Landge, who stated that the initiative will not only improve the aesthetic value of the flyover but also provide citizens with a safer and more pleasant travel experience.
Speaking at the event, Landge emphasized that upgrading existing infrastructure and giving it a modern touch is a key focus of the civic body. He added that such projects contribute significantly to urban development and enhance the overall image of the city.
Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar, ruling party leader Prashant Shitole, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, along with several corporators, officials, and local residents, were present in large numbers for the event. Members of the Shitole family also attended the programme.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Suryavanshi highlighted that the civic administration is focusing on modernization and maintenance of existing infrastructure. He noted that the lighting and beautification of the Sangvi–Bopodi flyover will enhance commuter safety and support sustainable urban development.
During the event, Prashant Shitole delivered the introductory address, stating that the newly named ‘Sarkar Shitole Setu’ will serve as a key landmark in the Sangvi–Bopodi area and will further accelerate local development. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to undertaking such citizen-centric projects in the future.
