Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Shekhar Singh, has been urged to take immediate action against the dangerous hoardings erected in front of children’s schools in the city. The request comes in the wake of a recent accident in the neighboring city of Rawet, which claimed the lives of several innocent citizens.

Residents of the city have expressed their concern over the huge hoardings erected in front of many children’s schools, as well as where Asha school buses stand at Asha place. The hoardings have been deemed as a serious threat to the safety of school-going children and the general public.

In a letter addressed to the Commissioner, the residents have urged him to take strict action against those who put up unauthorized billboards and hoardings. They have also requested the immediate removal of all hoardings in front of Asha schools in Pimpri Chinchwad.

The letter further states that it is unclear how anyone gave permission for the hoardings, and it is imperative that action be taken to prevent any such incidents in the future.

“The management of the Sky Sign Licensing Department of PCMC is working under the pressure of all political leaders. The sign license department of the PCMC is entirely responsible for the fact that unauthorized hoardings and flexes of political leaders’ birthdays and other political events are being put up everywhere in the city and the city is becoming disfigured. It is the demand of our federation on behalf of the citizens of the city that at least the hoarding erected in front of the children’s school should be removed immediately and the commissioner should ensure that no calamity occurs in the future,” Sanjeevan Sangle Chairman of Chikhali-Moshi Pimpri Chinchwad Cooperative Housing Societies’ Federation.
