Pimpri News : Pimpri Chinchwad police busts illegal LPG refilling racket in Bhosari, seizes 28 cylinders

Crime Branch Unit 1 of Pimpri Chinchwad city police recently busted a black-marketing racket involved in the illegal sale of domestic gas cylinders, posing a threat to the movement of people in residential areas. Goods worth Rs.48,500/-, including small and large domestic gas tanks, were seized during the operation.

The Commissioner of Police, Vinay Kumar Choubey, ordered Police inspector Jitendra Kadam, Additional Charge of Crime Branch Unit 1, to take concrete action against illegal businesses within the limits of the unit. A team of enforcers, including Farooq Mulla, Pramod Hiralkar, Vishal Bhoir, Maruti Jaibhai, and Swapneel Mahale, was ordered to take action against the said illegal businesses.

Based on a tip-off received through their special correspondent, Police sub inspector Sheikh and his team received information about a garage in the area that was engaged in black marketing. After conducting a detailed investigation, the police raided Lakshmi Gas Enterprises shop at Complex, Bhosari, and found that one person was selling gas from a large domestic gas cylinders by filling it in small cylinders. The police conducted a detailed panchanama before the Panchas and seized 10 large domestic gas tanks, 28 small gas tanks, 2 gas withdrawal machines, 1 weigher worth Rs.48,500/-, and arrested the accused, identified as Parameshwar Dayanand Mane, aged 26 years.

The accused deliberately avoided making enough provision for flammable material, posing a threat to people’s lives, by filling gas from domestic cylinders filled with essential items in his possession into small gas tanks without a license and selling the said gas at a high commercial rate. A case has been registered against him at Bhosari Police Station under Section 285 along with Section 37 of Essential Commodities Act 1955 Supply and Distribution, as per Section 3,4,5,6,7 of Regulation Order 2000. The accused has been handed over to the custody of Kami Bhosari Police Station for further action.

Further investigations are underway into the domestic gas suppliers involved in black marketing. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Manoj Lohia, Upper Commissioner of Police Sanjay Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Swapna Gore, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Prashant Amritkar, Police Inspector Jitendra Kadam, Police Sub-Inspector Imran Sheikh PO. Amaldar Farooq Mulla, Pramod Hiralkar, Vishal Bhoir, Maruti Jaibhai, and Swapneel Mahale.
