Rawet : Residents of Rawet in Pimpri Chinchwad city are demanding that a park and ground be developed at the open plot. This open plot is spread across 16 acres, which has been transferred to the Municipal Corporation. Water tanks have already been set up on some of the land, and the rest of the land is proposed to be used for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana housing scheme. But residents are opposing the move of setting up Awas yojana at the same place.

However, the residents have gone to court against the housing scheme, stating that they want the land to be used for public parks and fields instead. In response to the demand, Shiv Sena MP Shrirang Barne held a meeting with Commissioner Shekhar Singh to find a suitable solution.

During the meeting, MP Barne suggested that the open land be kept for public use, and a suitable alternative be found for the housing scheme. He also proposed that the vacant land near the Khandoba temple in Akurdi be reserved for a wrestling arena, as the temple committee has been using the space for yatras and vehicle parking.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh assured that the administrative process will be completed soon to address the demands of the villagers and the proposed solutions by MP Barne.
