Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued notice to 52 rooftop hotels for operating without the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the fire department and other requisite documents.  Furthermore, the rooftop hotels which are operational without PCMC’s permission will be demolished.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vijaykumar Thorat, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, PCMC said, “Till now, PCMC has identified 52 rooftop hotels that are operational without the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department. All of them are given notices. The PCMC has reminded them several times to show the NOC or at least provide the relevant documents. However, the majority of the hotels have failed to do so. Hence, we have given a time limit of one month to them. If they fail to do so, we will take stringent action against them.”

As per the information given by Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, if the rooftop hotels do not provide the fire department’s NOC or the required documents in the given time frame, then the PCMC will take strict actions against them which includes imposing fines, regularising parts of those hotels which could be regularised and demolishing those parts which couldn’t be regularised and so on.
