Pimpri : Rotary Club of Walhekarwadi to distribute one lakh cloth bags

Pune: The Rotary Club of Walhekarwadi, Rotary District 3131 (Pune) and Valve Works India through the CSR initiative has started a drive to promote the use of cloth bags instead of plastic and has set a target to sell 1 lakh bag initially. The cloth bag which costs ₹40 will be sold for ₹12 by Rotary club to common people.

The initiative has been undertaken by the Rotary club team of Walhekarwadi with Valveworks India company. Through this project, large size bags of good quality cotton with slogan and logo of Rotary have been made which will be given to the citizens under Synergy Project through various Rotary Clubs of the city.

“We will be distributing 1 lakh bags to people at ₹12 each. So the reason to distribute this bag is to make people use cloth bags instead of plastic.These bags will have an awareness message written on it and can bear a weight of 5-6 kgs,” said Reshma Bora, a member of Rotary Club, Walhekarwadi.
