‘Ploggathon’ catches popularity in PCMC

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) initiated plastic-free campaign under which the corporation arranged a ‘river plogathon’ event in Chikhali and Moshi. Nearly, 450 participants took a part in the event that included school students, teachers, society federations, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation officials and senior citizens.

The participants collected nearly 3 tonnes of garbage. The drive also aimed at cleaning the Bhairavnath temple corridor, adjoining Indrayani River. The clean up followed by an oath to ban the use of plastic that further led to a rally of 300 school students spreading message on the harmful nature of plastic usage.
