Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch five Vande Bharat trains during his upcoming visit to Madhya Pradesh on June 27. In addition to attending the grand finale of the Virangana Rani Durgavati Balidan Diwas and Rani Durgavati Gourav Yatra, PM Modi will inaugurate two trains from Bhopal to Indore and Bhopal to Jabalpur, commencing their Vande Bharat service from the state capital.

To further extend his reach, the Prime Minister will also remotely inaugurate the Bangalore-Hooghly, Ranchi-Patna, and Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat trains through a video link. The Mumbai-Goa train was initially scheduled to be flagged off on June 3, but due to the unfortunate triple train accident in Odisha, the ceremony had to be postponed.

The introduction of the Vande Bharat train is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Mumbai and Goa, cutting over an hour from the current duration. Presently, the Tejas Express takes approximately 8 hours and 50 minutes to cover the same distance. However, it is anticipated that fares for the Vande Bharat service may be higher compared to those of the Tejas Express. The AC chair car ticket price for the Mumbai-Goa route on the Tejas Express is Rs 1,555, while the executive chair car ticket costs Rs 3,080.

The Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express is likely to make stops at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, and Thivim stations along its route.

With the introduction of the Goa Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, Maharashtra will have its fifth semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train, contributing to a total of 19 such trains operating across the country.
