Uttar Pradesh Man Arrested for Threatening to Blow Up Various Places in Mumbai and Pune; Demanded Rs 2 Lakh Ransom

The Mumbai Police have apprehended a man hailing from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, for making a threatening call to the police control helpline, where he claimed to have planted bombs in several locations in Mumbai and Pune. The accused, identified as Darvesh Rajbhar, demanded a ransom of Rs 2 lakh to prevent the imminent explosions and expressed intentions to flee to Malaysia with his accomplices using the money. 

The caller’s location was successfully traced to Jaunpur, leading to the arrest of the suspect by the Mumbai police, who have initiated an investigation into the matter. Charges under sections 505(1)(b), 505(2), and 185 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been registered against the accused.
