PM Modi’s unavailability delaying Pune airport’s new terminal building inauguration; alleges Congress

Congress leader Mohan Joshi stated on Wednesday that the new terminal building at Pune Airport will not open on time because Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unavailable.

As per further information, Mohan Joshi stated that if the new terminal building is not operational by January 1, the Congress will hold an agitation.

Joshi further stated that for the convenience of flyers, it is crucial to operate the new terminal building as soon as possible. According to what they know, the building has been completed for two or three months, but Prime Minister Modi was too busy campaigning in the most recent assembly elections to attend the inauguration.

Joshi further said that flyers are eagerly anticipating the new building’s opening. Seeing people suffer simply because some leaders cannot make it to the inauguration infuriates me.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Santosh Dhoke, Airport Director, Pune Airport said, “We haven’t received approval from the Civil Aviation Ministry regarding the new terminal building inauguration yet.”

At an estimated cost of Rs 475 crore, construction on the new terminal building began in 2017 and was scheduled to be completed by September 2022. However, there have been some delays in the project’s completion date.
