Pimpri Chinchwad police bust 200 crore online task fraud scam

There have been such cases where many people get caught in the temptation of online tasks with the desire to earn lakhs of rupees from home and lose crores of rupees. Not one or two, but as many as 3 crore highly educated youth of the country have been caught in the net of such online fraud and the racket of international cyber criminals, who conned them all, has been reported by the Pimpri Chinchwad police and the accused have been imprisoned.

Many IT engineers working in a reputed company in Hinjawadi got an online task on their mobile. After reading ‘Give Rating and Get Paid’, these engineers fell in love with the task in the hope that several expenses can be met while sitting at home and they lost lakhs of rupees.

Not only one person has been trapped in the net of these scammers, but this gang has grabbed around 200 crores from three crore highly educated people across the country. A gang that commits fraud through online tasks makes full use of technology. These scammers set three steps for people to get caught in the net of ‘online task’.

First stage: Open bank accounts in the name of the poor and buy those accounts.

Second stage: From these accounts, money would be exchanged between the task doers

Third stage: The amount in those accounts would disappear.

In the investigation, these shocking facts came to light.

The Crime Branch of Pimpri Chinchwad Police conducted an investigation and busted this gang. So far, 14 accused have been nabbed. As many as 95 fake bank accounts were sealed.
