PMC allows indoor and outdoor sports activities

Pune Municipal Corporation’s Commissioner Vikram Kumar in the order issued today, October 13, 2020 has given permission to play outdoor games such as Kho Kho, cricket as well as indoor sports such as badminton, lawn tennis, etc outside containment zones.  

But PMC has put restrictions on any sort of sports events to be held and they shall still remain prohibited.

  • Following social distancing, wearing masks are a must at these sports centers. Limited number of people must enter such premises.
  • Persons below 10 years age and above 65 years of age are not allowed to enter the premises.
  • Thermal screening is a must
  • Indoor sports centers must keep the doors, windows open and avoid use of air conditioning systems. Portable high efficiency air cleaners must be used.
  • Open stadiums or indoor sports facilities must be sanitised regularly.
  • Sanitisation of sports equipment is a must before and after they are used.
  • Provision of hand sanitisers is a must at both indoor and outdoor sports facility centers.
  • Violating these norms will be liable for action under Disaster Management Act 2005 section 51-60 and IPC 188.
