Pune: Vikram Kumar, the Pune Municipal Commissioner has issued a warning that a fine will be levied on builders if the construction work is carried out during night time.

It is worthy to note that along with the central part of Pune city, large-scale constructions are going on in the suburbs day and night. The residents of the surrounding areas are suffering from it. In this case, if a complaint is made to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) or the police, no action is taken. Some citizens said that they were being forced to live under such conditions. Against this backdrop, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar gave the warning.

PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar stated that under no circumstances can construction be continued in Pune and its surrounding areas at night. If found, such builders & other perpetrators will be fined.

The commissioner further said that an SOP will be prepared soon in this regard. Although there is no mention in the permission letter, it does not mean that the construction should continue at night. After granting the construction permission, the concerned builder is expected to work within the day itself. It is prohibited to continue the construction at night. The residents of the surrounding area have to bear its suffering. This is not correct.

Vikram Kumar further added that in any situation, the professionals should not disturb the surrounding citizens by continuing their work at night time.
