PMC establishes committee for 11 merged villages to hear property tax pleas

A meeting with Vikram Kumar, commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation was organized by former minister for state, Vijay Shivtare at PMC headquarters on December 15th, 2022 with regard to 11 newly-merged villages in PMC.

The meeting discussed about inflated property tax bills, water supply, sewage system and also about other issues of the villages. In the meeting it was decided to form a committee under Kunal Khemnar, additional commissioner, PMC, who will scrutinize the property tax bills of property holders from these areas.

Issues of property tax from Ambegaon, Undri, Pisoli , Handewadi and other villages will be heard by this committee and shall be resolved. This committee will have four PMC officers with Mr.Vasant Sutar monitoring the applications.

The committee will scrutinize the documents on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11am and 2 pm.
For villages such as Ambegaon Budruk, Ambegaon Khurd, Jambhulwadi and other nearby areas, the water woes have remained unresolved, complained residents. The officials suggested that the water supply shall be regulated through old water schemes till the time, new ones are implemented.

PMC Commissioner has asked water department to resolve the water issue of Yeolewadi, as even after 10 years of being merged in the civic limits the area has poor water supply management.

As an outcome of the meeting, PMC will write to RERA against the builders who are asking property holders to pay property tax for the period when the property was not in possession of the property owner.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Vikram Kumar and residents of various merged villages Dasharath Kalbhor, Swati Takle, Amrita Babar, Deepak Gujar, Namesh Babar, Santosh Tathe, Atul Dangat, Anil Kondhre and Tanaji Dangat.
