PMC health department on alert mode due to rising Covid cases

Pune: The number of Covid cases in the state have been increasing in the last few days, with Pune being one of the cities affected. However, the health department of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been on alert mode and has deployed teams to combat the situation.

According to the latest statistics provided by the PMC health department, a total of 321 samples were collected from PMC CCC, private labs, and hospitals, and Rapid Antigen Test. Out of these, a total of 60 patients were found positive by RT PCR and Rapid Antigen Test.

The health department further reported that there is only one patient on invasive ventilator and one on non-invasive ventilator, while four patients are receiving treatment on oxygen beds. Additionally, a total of 292 active cases have been reported in the PMC area, out of which 25 patients are admitted and receiving treatment, and 267 patients are isolated at home.

“Currently 292 cases of which active 25 admissions and 4 are on oxygen. The condition of Covid is under control. 95% take treatment at home and no patient is admitted in serious situations. In Pune 184 teams are deployed, they do the survey and collect the sample. Medicine stocks are available and PMC is alert. PMC has 489 beds reserve, 542 oxygen beds, 69 ICU and 62 ventilators and if the situation gets worse then we will arrange facilities in private hospitals and treatment arrangements will be done,” said Dr. Bhagwan Pawar, head of health department PMC.
