Traffic diversion announced at Kalyani Nagar due to ongoing metro work

Pune: Pune city is seeing works being carried by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. as part of the Pune Metro Reach-3 route in Yerawada Traffic Division. The construction is taking place between Civil Court and Ramwadi, and also at the N.M. Kalyani nagar metro Railway Station between Chavan Chowk and Adlabs Chowk.

Due to the construction, temporary changes in traffic have been implemented by the government of Maharashtra’s Home Department. The changes were made under Sections 115, 116 (1) (a) (b), 116 (4), and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Vijayakumar Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Transport, Pune City for carrying the work of the Kalyani nagar Metro Station in the Yerwada Traffic Division.

These traffic changes will remain in effect from March 28, 2023 till June 27, 2023. As per the new regulations, traffic going from N.M. Chavan Chowk to Adlabs Chowk and from Adlabs Chowk to N.M. Chavan Chowk will be closed as required. Citizens can use alternative route from Chavan Chowk being redirected to Bishop School. Whereas, people heading towards Chavan Chowk should take right turn from Gold Adlab Chowk onto Kalyaninagar Lane no. 7, then turn left to N.M. Chavan Chowk.

Traffic coming from A.B.C. Square will need to turn left to Kalyaninagar Lane no. 3 and then turn right to Adlab Chowk. These temporary changes in traffic are essential for the construction of the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. within the limits of Yerawada Traffic Division in Pune City.
