PMC issues guidelines for eateries, food courts, restaurants in Pune

The Pune Municipal Corporation government on Sunday, October 4, 2020 issued Covid-19 safety guidelines applicable for restaurants, bars, food courts and hotels which are allowed to open from October 5. These places are allowed to operate at 50 % of their seating capacity. These establishments allowed to operate between 8 am to 10 pm. 

According to the guidelines, below are important points which these establishments should follow : 

1. Customers should be screened at the entry point for Covid19 symptoms such as high temperature, cough and cold.

2. Putting on face masks will be mandatory, except while eating. 

3. Only asymptomatic customers will be allowed inside.

4. The guidelines also mentioned that the consent should be obtained from visitors for sharing their details with administrative and health authorities for contact-tracing. 

5. Customers must follow social distancing while waiting for service.

6. Hand sanitisers must be made available for customers. 

7. Payment through digital mode should be encouraged while precautions should be taken during cash transactions.

8. Regular cleaning of rest rooms and hand-wash areas must be conducted. 

9. Plexiglass screens or similar barriers must be erected at counters where there is frequent interactions with customers.

11. CCTV cameras on the premises must function fully and only cooked food should be included in the menu. Raw or cold food like salads should be avoided. 

12. On a daily basis, furniture should be disinfected. 

13. Distance in between two table should be one meter. 

14. Use of disposable menu cards should be put into use. The non disposable menu cards must be sanitised regularly. Also digital menu card MUST be used. 

15. Valet parking service attendants should use mask, gloves, sanitisers.

16. Used bowls, plates, spoons must be washed immediately and wet and dry waste must be disposed off the same day.
