PMC issues guidelines for travellers coming from Middle East and European countries

Soon after the Maharashtra state government issued an order stating night curfew in municipal limits, the Pune Municipal Corporation issued an order stating the guidelines for passengers arriving from Middle East and European countries. Rubal Agarwal, Additional Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation issued the order today on December 22,2020. 

QUARANTINE GUIDELINES FOR PASSENGERS ARRIVING FROMMIDDLE EAST/ EUROPEAN COUNTRIES
It has been reported that distinct Phylogenetic cluster of SARs-CoV-2 ( named lineage 8.1.1.7) has been detected. This SARs-CoV-2 is spreading and growing rapidly in United Kingdom (UK). ln view of this, all the flights originating from UK into India have been suspended temporarily w.e.f. 23.5g hours, 22nd December 2O2O till 31″ December 2O2O (23.59 hours) by Government of lndia vide the above referred circular. 

ln the meanwhile, form 22nd December 2020 the following directives areissued under Epidemic Disease Act,L897 and The Disaster Management Act 2005 to be followed at the Pune International Airport as a measure of caution to prevent thespread of the new mutant Corona Virus in Pune.

  • All the passengers arriving from Middle-East / European countries should be subjected to mandatory institutional quarantine at their own cost, in the nearby hotels for seven days.
  • lf the passenger is found symptomatic on arrival, then he will be shifteddirectly to Naidu Hospital, Pune for future evaluation and treatment.
  • On arrival, no RT-PCR test will be conducted However RT-PCR test will beconducted during 5th to 7th day at the hotels at the cost of the quarantinedpassengers. lf the report of the test is found negative, the passenger would bedischarged from the institutional quarantine after 5 to 7 days with the advice of 7 days mandatory Home Quarantine. lf the test result is found positive but the Passenger is asymptomatic then he will be continued in the same hotel inquarantine or in the COVID – 19 Hospital till 14 days.
  • Arrangements to be made by PMPML to transport all the passengers comingfrom these countries to the hotels.
  • The passports of all the passengers will be deposited with the hotel andreturned at the time of discharge from the hotel quarantine.
  • The arrangement for the testing of these passengers to be made throughlinking of private laboratories to the quarantine hotels and the same will becharged to the passengers. 
  • Revenue & PMC Joint Teams willimplementation of all guidelines.monitor the operation and ensure.
  • PPE Kits to be provided to immigration officers as well as everyone workingon the airport by pune International Airport Authority.
  • RTPCR is compulsory on arrival of passengers from any other country. Test is mandatory on their own cost. Then they will go for 7 days Home quarantine. 
  • The passengers who travelled to UK (in last 15 days) must report to PMChelpdesk. (020 – 25506800 / 01/02/03. 
  • These guidelines are applicable to all passengers arriving at pune InternationalAirport from Middle East and European Countries (lncluding transitpassengers) irrespective of their further travel plans, till further orders.
