PMC to hold mega Ploggathon drive on Oct 24
Pune Municipal Corporation has organised a mega Ploggathon 2021 drive on October 24, 2021 between 7 am and 9 am wherein a two kilometer stretch shall be covered in this ploggathon drive. The regional ward offices of Pune Municipal Corporation shall take the responsibility of arranging pick up of the waste. Similar activity shall be carried also at the PMC gardens between 7 am and 9 am. Laughter club members, senior citizen club members, moholla committee, self help groups, non government organisations, Ganesh mandals, celebrities, leading personalities, etc can take part in this ploggathon drive.
Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Pune Municipal Corporation today announced the details of the mega ploggathon drive.
On December 12, 2019 a mega ploggathon was organised under the leadership of Mayor Murlidhar Mohol in Pune Municipal Corporation jurisdiction, on 98 main roads, 178 gardens and a total of 5000 PMC as well as private schools.
On this day, ploggathon was organised on a total of 776 venues, Ploggathon 2020 – Mega drive wherein 105417 Puneites had participated and 19,815 kg plastic and dry waste was collected.
The event shall conclude at Bhide Bridge where all members, PMC officials and staff shall take an oath on cleanliness.
On October 24, 2021 all PMC staff shall instruct the residents about the ploggathon event. All schools should conduct Ploggathon activity in their school premises and surrounding 2 km area.
