Pune: Keeping a check on the increasing waste in the city, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to install 614 litter bins in 15 wards of the PMC.

A senior PMC official, requesting anonymity said, “A major challenge today is the increasing amount of garbage and waste on the streets. The absence of an adequate number of public dustbins is a major factor behind this. Hence, the PMC has issued a tender to install 614 litter bins in Pune.”

As per the information shared by the official, the issued tender will be floated soon. Each litter bin will be a twin bin – one bin for dry waste & one bin for wet waste. The dry and wet bins will have a capacity of 60 litres each. Thus, the combined capacity of each bin will be 120 litres.
