PMC warns against illegal hoarding

Residents have complained against 47 people in the regard and the corporation has initiated action.

The Pune Municipal Corporation has raised a penalty amount of Rs 5.70 lakh through four cases in the last five months. These cases have been registered for placing illegal hoarding in the city, thus spoiling its ‘smart city’ image. Residents have complained against 47 people in the regard and the corporation has initiated action.

PMC has been taking action against illegal hoarding. A team has been deployed to remove unauthorised and illegal hoarding placed in public places. The corporation said that cases be will filed under the relevant provisions as per the law.

Last year, Rs 7.58 lakh penalties was collected by PMC from those putting up illegal hoardings. To create awareness about the action that will be taken for illegal hoarding, PMC’s solid waste management department will do so through its ‘garbage pickup” van.
