PMPML announces diversion of bus routes ahead of road closure during Ganeshotsav

Pune: Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has announced alternate routes for buses after roads are closed in the evening during the Ganesh festival.
As per information from PMPML, during Ganeshotsav a large number of devotees come to Pune city to seek blessings of the deity causing traffic jams in the city. In order to prevent it, the roads in the central area of Pune city are closed by the traffic police for buses and other traffic in the evening generally around 5 p.m. At such a time, to avoid inconvenience to students, workers and devotees, the transport corporation will use alternative roads. Its details are as follows:

| 1 | 2, 2A, 11, 11A, 11K, 216, 298, 354, Metro 12, 13, 20, 21, 37, 38, 88, 297, 28, 30, 10 | · Buses of this route will stop coming through Shivaji Road during Ganeshotsav period and will proceed via Jangali Maharaj Road, Balgandharva, Deccan, Sambhaji Bridge via Tilak Road to Swargate Chowk.· After Tilak Road is closed for traffic, the buses of this route will come to Dandekar Bridge via Shastri Road and then via Mitra Mandal Chowk to Lakshmi Narayan Chowk and continue their regular route.· However, no change has been made until traffic on Bajirao Road is blocked while going from Swargate to Shivaji Nagar. |

| 3 | 55 | Buses on the said route will be released from Nataraj stand instead of Shanipar/Mandai during road closure. Also, the said buses will continue to travel via the usual route i.e. Ambil Odha Colony, Senadatta Police Chowki. |
| 4 | 58, 59 | Buses of this bus route will be released from Deccan Gymkhana stand during road closure. |
| 5 | 8, 81, 94, 108, 143, 144, 144K, 144A, 283 | · There will be no change in the route of buses of the said route from Kothrud to Pune station.· But coming from Pune station, the buses of these routes will proceed from Sassoon Hospital, Maldhakka, Juna Bazar, M.N.P. Bhavan Bus Stand, Kanges Bhawan, Balgandharva, Deccan Bus Station, Khanduji Baba Chowk via normal route.· The said change should be done only after traffic police closes Lakshmi Road for traffic. |
| 6 | 9, 174 | · Route no 174 buses coming from Kondhwa Gate to Pune station take Kelkar Road and come to AB Chowk and continue by normal route to Lal Mahal and then take a right turn at Devji Baba Mandir Chowk and take a left turn to Hamje Khan Chowk via Gurudwara Road and continue by normal route.· If Lakshmi Road is closed for traffic, the buses of this route will arrive at Modern Bakery Chowk and take a left turn at Seven Loves Chowk and take a right turn at Swargate Chowk. From Swargate Chowk straight from Nehru Stadium to Deccan Corner via Saras Baug Tilak Road and from there will continue to operate on normal routes. |
| 7 | 7, 197, 202 | Buses on these routes will run during road closures via Mhatre Pool, Swargate Shankar Sheth Road, turn left at Seven Loves Chowk, Ramoshigate, Bhawanimata Mandir, Mahatma Gandhi Stand in the usual route. However, after the closure of the road near Bhawani Mata Temple, the firing ground, Mahatma Gandhi Stand will continue on the normal route. |

| 10 | 180, 181 | After normal road closure by traffic police, buses on these routes will continue to ply after Mangala Talkies, Surya Hospital, Kubanwarada, Old Bazar, Bolhai Chowk, Lal Deul, West End, Old Pulgate, Mahatma Gandhi Stand and onwards. |
| 11 | 4, 26, 68, 71, 339, 232, 103, 89, 90, 64, 72, 78, 199 | After the closure of Tilak Road for traffic during Ganeshotsav period, the said routes will remain in traffic via Shastri Road, Dandekar Bridge. |
| 12 | 113, 113A | During the Ganeshotsav period, the said route will remain operational from Municipal Pump Stand in both shifts. |
After the closure of the roads in the central part of the city around 5:00 pm during Ganeshotsav, the bus routes have been changed as above. However, if the traffic police department changes the traffic in time, the bus operation will continue accordingly.
