PMPML Rolls Out Exam-Time Travel Support For SSC And HSC Students
Pune, February 10, 2026: Ahead of the Class 10 (SSC) and Class 12 (HSC) board examinations, which begin on February 20 and February 10 respectively, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has introduced special travel arrangements to help students commute smoothly during the exam period.
The public transport body said the measures are aimed at providing safe, convenient, and hassle-free travel so that students can focus on their examinations without worrying about reaching their centres on time.
As per the new guidelines, students appearing for the SSC and HSC exams who possess valid PMPML bus passes will be allowed to travel between their homes and examination centres without purchasing separate tickets for the duration of the exams. Officials said this step is expected to reduce last-minute delays and overcrowding-related stress.
In another relief measure, exam-going students will be permitted to board buses from the front entrance, ensuring quicker access, particularly during peak morning hours. To facilitate this, PMPML will deploy officers and supervisory staff at busy bus stops to give priority to students travelling for examinations.
The transport authority has also asked schools and colleges to inform PMPML in advance if a large number of students are expected to travel from specific localities. Based on such inputs, additional buses will be arranged on selected routes to manage increased demand.
A senior PMPML official said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting students during a crucial academic phase. Parents and students have been encouraged to make full use of the special facilities throughout the examination period.
Students have welcomed the move, saying it will ease commuting concerns during exams.
