PMPML seeks help from Google Cloud To Enhance Passenger Experience : System Installed on 14 PMPML buses on trial basis

PUNE:Â Significant infrastructure development is underway in Pune to enhance the transportation experience for residents. The introduction of the Metro system has marked a promising beginning, and there are plans for further expansion. Additionally, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd. (PMPML) is actively working towards improving bus travel facilities.
As per the information provided, a few new buses will be added to the existing ones. To locate the destination of PMPML buses on Google, a test is being carried out. Furthermore, a plan is made for PMPML tickets to conveniently purchased online.
PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Sachindra Pratap Singh has initiated numerous positive changes for passengers. A recent collaboration with Google enabled the installation of equipment in 14 PMPML buses on a trial basis.
While talking to Pune Pulse, Satish Gate, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd., added, ”Equipments will be set up in 14 buses for a trial basis. If this trial is successful, equipment will be installed on all the PMPML buses. Passengers will be able to get the exact location of the bus, making it easy for them to know.”
Further, he added, ”We are working on the idea of online ticketing for PMPML services, facilitated by an app and QR codes. The PMPML is in talks with the BEST for further development.”
As per the information received, every day, approximately two lakh people rely on the PMPML bus service within the city. Efforts are being made to ensure that all passengers receive improved amenities. Consequently, several outdated buses in the PMPML fleet will be replaced, with new buses expected to be added.
