Police Officer found dead on stairs of housing society in KP, Investigation Underway

A 55-year-old police officer, identified as Dattatraya Kurale, was discovered dead in Koregaon Park on Saturday morning, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his demise.

The Pune city police control room received a report about an unconscious man on the staircase of a housing society in lane number 7 of Koregaon Park around 10:30 am. Upon arrival, a police team confirmed Kurale’s identity and affiliation as a sub-inspector with the Motor Transport department of the state police.

Kurale’s body was transported to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead. Subsequently, the body was shifted to Sassoon hospital for post-mortem examination.

Authorities registered a case of accidental death (AD) at the Koregaon Park police station and initiated a probe to determine the cause of Kurale’s death. Police revealed that Kurale had a background as a constable and had visited the Little Goa building in Koregaon Park on the morning of the incident.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage from cameras installed in the vicinity as part of their efforts to shed light on the circumstances leading to Kurale’s untimely demise. ,
