Police urges Ganesh mandals to follow rules
Officials met the Ganesh mandal representatives from Zone 5 of Pune city police at Jambhulkar Garden recently. While the officials promised support, they also urged the mandals to follow rules while celebrating the festival.
The programme was attended by Namrata Patil, deputy commissioner of Police, Zone 5 and Deepak Lagad, Senior Police Inspector, Wanawadi police station, among others.
Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik informed that citizens found violating rules will be strictly punished.
Namrata Patil, DCP, Zone 5, Pune city Police insisted on celebrating the festival peacefully.
The representatives from the Ganesh mandals asked the police for more time for the procession while also promising that the procession and the celebrations will take place peacefully.
