Poona Keraleeya Samaj organizes Onam celebrations on Sept 3

Pune: Poona Keraleeya Samaj, a Malayalee association has organized the Onam celebration along with its 78th Anniversary celebration event on a large scale in Pune on September 3.

Sharing information, Madhu Nair, President of Poona Keraleeya Samaj said that as part of the annual Onam and Anniversary celebrations they organize a grand event every year which is inaugurated and attended by eminent personalities, consisting of various cultural programmes, Pookalam (Flower rangoli) competition etc.

This year as well, they will be organizing a grand Onam and their 78th anniversary celebration event, which will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Gopinath Muthukad, a famous magician turned social activist, preceded by a Pookalam competition and followed by a grand Onam Sadhya (feast), various cultural programmes and a motivational speech/ interactive session by the chief guest.

The Poona Keraleeya Samaj is one of the oldest Malayalee Associations in Pune and a registered Charitable Trust since 1944. The Samaj is a purely non-political and non-religious organization.

They work towards:

1. Cultural, social, and educational development of Keralites in and around Pune.

2. Providing medical and educational assistance to economically weaker sections of society and underprivileged children/orphans.

3. Promoting Kerala Arts and cultural activities in Pune.
