Two unidentified persons attempt to steal sandalwood tree from society premises in Karvenagar

PUNE: An incident has come to light wherein two unidentified accused attempted to steal a sandalwood tree worth Rs 90,000 located near a water tank in Sneh Sahakari Griharachna Sanstha (Limited) Society, Karvenagar.

As per the information provided, a 78-year-old senior citizen, resident of Sneh Sahakari Griharachna Sanstha (Limited) Behind Society Office at Hingane Budruk Mhada Complex, Karvenagar, Pune, has lodged a complaint with Alankar police.

Later, an FIR was registered in this case under sections 379, 511, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. A thorough investigation is being carried out by the police in this case.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Mahesh Nimbalkar, Assistant Sub-Inspector, added, ”Accused attempted to steal a tree around 3.00 am to 3.30 am. from society premises. We are checking CCTV footage, and an investigation is being carried out in this case. An FIR has been registered, and the accused will be remanded in police custody.”
