Power supply of 2,60,000 consumers affected due to fault in Lonikand Jejuri power station

Low power supply from Maharashtra state electricity distribution company limited’s Nanded City 220 KV station today hampered power distribution to Padmavati and Parvati areas on Saturday October 10,2020. Rotational power cuts from 8.35 am began today morning affecting several areas in the city. This two hour power cut in the areas kept over 2,60,000 power consumers without power supply. 

As per the information given by the MSEDCL about frequent power cut today morning, the 440 KV high tension power line from Lonikand to Jejuri disrupted which affected the power supply. This further resulted in low power supply to Jejuri to Koyna Level 4 ‘s 220 KV sub station which affected the Nanded City 220 KV station and low supply to the station affected the power supply to Padmavati and Parvati. A total of 15 sub stations and 82 power lines were affected due to this power disruption. Hence, several areas such as Bibvewadi, Dhayari, Katraj, Ambegaon, Balaji Nagar, Shanti nagar, Kirkatwadi, Sinhagad road suffered two hours of power outage since 8.30 am. Regular Power  supply shall be resumed by evening, informed the press release issued by the MSEDCL.
