Pimpri-Chinchwad : The administration of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will conduct the lottery draw on Saturday, January 20, to determine beneficiaries for the ‘Prime Minister Housing scheme.

This scheme includes projects in Pimpri and Akurdi. It is worthy to note that Mahesh Landge, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA actively pursued it for the past three years.

Landge has successfully steered the path for these projects. Beneficiaries of a total of 938 houses under this project will be decided through the lottery draw. The state government has granted approval to alter reservations for this project, particularly the Lucky Draw (Lottery) process, marking the elimination of bureaucratic obstacles.

Landge has worked tirelessly with the municipal administration and the state government’s urban development department to make the lottery draw a reality. Despite facing technical hurdles during the execution, the Lucky Draw process has now been streamlined. With the BJP MLA’s dedicated efforts, the projects in Pimpri and Akurdi under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme have been completed. Approximately 11,000 citizens have applied for these projects, aiming to fulfill their housing needs.

The specific reservations for related areas have been altered to address technical challenges. Consequently, the municipal administration, with a focus on economically weaker sections (EWS), aims to implement the scheme and provide homes to the beneficiaries promptly. MLA Mahesh Landge has submitted proposals to the municipal administration and the state government’s urban development department continuously to facilitate the progress of the Pimpri and Akurdi projects.

Despite the completion of the projects, the lottery draw to finalize beneficiaries was pending. Now, with the announcement of the lottery draw scheduled for January 20, 2024, at Chinchwad’s Prof. Ramkrishna More Auditorium at 9 am, the projects are entering the next phase of execution. The entire process is expected to be completed by March 2024, ensuring the distribution of keys to the beneficiaries by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

Mahesh Landge expressed satisfaction at the successful progress of the Prime Minister Housing Scheme projects in Pimpri and Akurdi.
