A Pradhikaran based resident, Premchand Garg, has lodged a complaint against Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), for threatening him and his family regarding installation of a ramp in his lane in front of his plot that makes easier for commuting to the entrance. The PCMC barged into his house without intimation and prior notice with security force in absence of his children and warned of cosnequences to the senior citizens (himself & his wife) in his family, as alleged by the resident.

While talking to Pune Pulse, he said, “It is unconstitutional to enter a citizen’s house with 100 officials including security force. I don’t have reservation against the ramp that was built 30 years ago but entering and threatening my family is unacceptable.”

“The complaint against PCMC is lodged at Nigdi Police station. The complainant also mentioned that he suffered health problems due to the “unconstitutional” and “illegal” action taken by the corporation.

Upon talking with the civic official, Swati Hosane, who as alleged by the resident entered his house, said, “We waited for fifteen minutes for them to come down for talks. We received a complaint from their neighbour who said that the ramp in front of their plot built them makes it tough for others to commute. Upon receiving the complaint, we simply wanted to intimate them and ask them if there is any approved plan to build ramp. There is nothing unconstitutional in enquiring about the development.”

A Ward senior official, Sheetal Vakade, while talking to Pune Pulse, said, “There was no intent to barge with security but we are equipped with a team that joins us in our drive. We didn’t go to his house to demolish anything but we simply asked him to display us the sanction or apporval of ramp.”
