A case has been filed by the Pimpri Chinchwad police against an unidentified individual for allegedly forging the deputy secretary of Maharashtra’s signature on a document in order to obtain affiliation with the CBSE board for a private school located in the city.

It is worthy to note that the director of the same school was arrested by the police earlier this month on charges of sexually abusing a female student.

A complaint from the official from the Department of Education led to the police filing a case against this individual.

According to a senior Ravet police officer, in order to apply for an affiliation to run a school with any board other than the state board, one must have an NOC from the state government’s education department.

This NOC document appears to have been falsified by the accused. Following an alert by the concerned officials to the education department of the civic body, a case was opened against the offender.

The Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 467 (forgery of a valuable security, will), 468 (forgery with the intent to deceive), and 471 (using a forged document as authentic) are the ones under which the Ravet police have filed a case.

The state education department has already received a recommendation from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) requesting that the school be denied recognition.

In addition, the civic organization has sent a letter to the charity commissioner requesting that the education trust that manages the school’s registration be cancelled.
