Pimpri, January 21, 2026:

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has initiated a strict seizure drive to recover pending property tax dues through its Tax Assessment and Collection Department. In the first phase of this campaign, stringent action will be taken against defaulters, with the drive being implemented extensively across the city starting January 21, 2026.

During a review meeting held in this regard, PCMC Additional Commissioner Tripti Sandbhor and Deputy Commissioner of the Tax Assessment and Collection Department, Pankaj Patil, issued clear instructions to all Assistant Ward Officers to take firm action against defaulters without granting any concessions. Assistant Ward Officers from all 18 zonal offices of the city were present at the meeting.

For effective recovery of outstanding property tax dues, separate ward-wise teams have been formed. In the coming days, seizure notices will be served to defaulters. If property owners fail to clear their dues even after receiving notices, direct seizure action will be initiated against their properties. As part of the campaign, water connections of residential defaulters will be disconnected, while non-residential defaulters will face direct seizure of their properties. The civic body has appealed to citizens to immediately clear current and pending property tax dues to avoid such stringent action.

35 Properties Seized, 133 Water Connections Disconnected

PCMC has intensified its tax collection drive, assigning responsibility to all group heads across the 18 zonal offices. Accordingly, strict action is underway against both residential and non-residential defaulters in the city. So far, 35 properties have been seized, and water connections of 133 defaulter property owners have been disconnected.

List of Defaulters to Be Published

The municipal corporation will soon publish a list of all property tax defaulters who have not yet paid their dues. PCMC has clarified that once the list is published, no complaints from the concerned defaulters will be entertained. Therefore, defaulters have been urged to immediately pay their pending property tax to avoid seizure and other coercive measures.

“Property tax is a crucial source of revenue for the development of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Through this revenue, the city’s infrastructure, civic services, sanitation, water supply, and education systems are strengthened. Those who continue to ignore property tax payments despite repeated notices will face action as per rules.”

— Tripti Sandbhor, Additional Commissioner, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation

“This campaign is being implemented with a focus on accurate data of defaulters, area-wise planning, and time-bound action. Daily progress is being reviewed through each zonal office. If defaulters promptly pay their dues, they can avoid actions such as seizure and disconnection of water supply. Citizens are therefore urged to voluntarily pay their taxes and cooperate with the municipal corporation.”

— Pankaj Patil, Deputy Commissioner, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
