Pune’s Crime Branch Anti-Human Trafficking Unit uncovered a prostitution racket operating under the guise of a spa in the Dhayari area on Sinhagad Road. During the raid, several young women were rescued, and the spa owner, Joyashree Naren Tamoli (32), was arrested. Tamoli, a resident of Nanded Phata, Sinhagad Road, hails from Bamungaon, Jorhat, Assam.
Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Chhaya Jadhav of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit filed a complaint at the Nanded City Police Station. Acting on information about illegal activities at “Day Spa,” the police conducted a raid on Tuesday evening. According to officials, Tamoli allegedly lured women into prostitution with the promise of financial gain.
This raid is part of an intensified campaign to crack down on illegal operations disguised as spas. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had received multiple complaints regarding such activities and directed strict action. Over the past year, 33 similar cases have been registered in Pune.
