Pune संवाद and Cartoonists Combine Present Cartoon Competition on "What's Lacking in Pune" to Highlight Civic and Environmental Issues
The phrase “What’s lacking in Pune” often sparks curiosity. While some may find it amusing, others might be puzzled. Our environment is the most crucial aspect of our lives. Pune संवाद group has been working tirelessly to address the inconsistencies between words and actions at various levels – civic, administrative, and political.
In the name of development, hills are blasted to build roads, tunnels are constructed, and trees are cut down. Rivers are exploited to erect metro pillars. New transportation systems are introduced, but existing ones are neglected. To reduce air pollution, instead of planting trees, metal trees are installed. River cleaning initiatives focus on constructing riverfronts, killing thousands of trees, only to plant grass on the constructed embankments.
The group has organized this cartoon competition to highlight these inconsistencies. Participants are invited to submit their cartoons on the theme of civic issues, environment, and politics.

Maximum 3 entries per participant, entry free.
A unique aspect of this competition is that the selection process will involve public voting on the Puneसंवाद whatsapp group, along with a committee’s evaluation.
The top three winners will receive cash prizes:
1st Prize: ₹ 3000/-
2nd Prize: ₹ 2000/-
3rd Prize: ₹ 1000/-
The award ceremony will take place:
November 9th
