Pune, January 15, 2026: In a heartening moment during the Pune Municipal Corporation elections, 100-year-old Narmada Devaram Kate exercised her right to vote in Ward No. 19 at Kondhwa’s Kausarbaug area on Thursday.
Despite her advanced age, Kate visited Booth No. 34 set up at the Pune Municipal Corporation School named after Sant Gadge Maharaj to participate in the democratic process.
Her presence at the polling station drew attention and admiration from fellow voters and election staff alike.
Officials said her determination highlighted the importance of civic duty and served as an inspiration, reinforcing the message that every vote matters, regardless of age.
Prabhag 19 Kondhwa Khurd Kausarbaug recorded 15.44 percent voting till 11.30 am.
