Pune : 12 Thousand Punekars Enjoy Benefits of Pune Metro’s One Pune Card
Over 12 thousand Pune residents have shown ‘smartness’ in buying metro tickets by purchasing One Pune Card. They have also availed 10 percent discount on the ticket price by purchasing the metro card online.
As per information by Dr Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director Public Relations And Administration, Pune Metro, an astounding 12,600 users have purchased & enjoyed benefits of the One Pune Card since it’s inauguration on 12th August i.e. in only 25 days.
This metro card is available at every station currently in operation. When people go to the Pune Metro portal, they will automatically see the option of metro card. It contains KYC (identity, bank, account number etc information). Once that is done, people can buy metro card of their desired amount. A card of Rs 100 and above is also available.
This is how the One Pune Card is used:
· It should be taken over from the nearest station. Although everything else is online, one has to go to the nearest metro station to get the card. When this card is swiped in the swipe machine at the station, money will be automatically deducted from it. This card can be used at any station for any metro line.
· Another special feature is that these cards can be used for shopping or hotelling as well other than only metro ticket purpose.
On August 1 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the expansion of the metro lines. Since then, 12,600 Punekars have purchased this metro card online. Metro card buyers get 10 percent discount on ticket price. Apart from that, there is no need to pay extra cost of the card. It is available for free.
