Pune: 200 citizens of Ivy Estate in Wagholi hold protest

Over 200 residents of Wagholi’s Ivy Estate society staged protest against a private builder for cheating and depriving the residents of access road to the society. The residents have been risking their life due to improper road access for the last 8 years.

“More than 50 residents submitted a written complaint to the Lonikand police station demanding action against Kolte Patil Developers Ltd, for cheating the residents,” informed a citizen to Pune Pulse. Several fatal accidents have taken place on the road as the 800 meter stretch is unsurfaced and into litigation due to which the residents have to go through severe ordeal of risking their life everyday.

The residents held their protest at the site which is in litigation. Another resident complained, “Improper access road has made the life miserable of over 600 families of Ivy Estate and other societies around this area. A total of 25,000 residents have been suffering everyday due to improper road. Residents earlier held an awareness drive asking motorists to drive safely as a school teacher met with a fatal accident due to poor road.”

Residents are demanding proper access road as this is the only approach road to the Ivy Estate society and other 15 societies. The residents claimed that the builder had shown them this road as a DP road while selling the flats. But in reality the said plot is in litigation due to which it is not been surfaced for the last many years.

A resident informed that the letter was given to Lonikand Police station against builder. The builder has built several new buildings in the area in the recent past and many new projects are undergoing construction. We met the land owner, but he told us that the matter is in court. He didn’t show any interest to discuss the issue, he added.

Lonikand Police Station officials were not available for any comment on the issue.
