Pune: 20k people visited Rajiv Gandhi Zoo on August 15

Pune: Several Punekars celebrated Independence Day by visiting the Zoo as Rajiv Gandhi Zoo in Katraj saw more than 20,000 plus visitors.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Rajkumar Jadhav, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Zoo, Katraj, Pune, said, “On August 15, 20,793 people visited the Zoo. It is a very happy & satisfying moment for us to see so many people visiting and spending time with our animals. Long queues could be seen near the ticketing counter where people of all ages were eagerly waiting to enter the zoo.”
As per information from Jadhav, Rajiv Gandhi Zoo saw a record-breaking number of visitors on January 1, 2023, with an astounding 25 thousand plus visitors on a single day.
As soon as the zoo opened in the morning on August 15, the zoo was crowded with thousands of tourists. People were enjoying themselves, taking selfies and pictures of animals. The sight of the white tigers brought smiles to the faces of the little ones.
The zoo has 425 animals of various species including tiger, lion, leopard, bear, and elephant. The special feature of this museum is the different species of animals living in their natural habitat here. There are also battery-operated trains here for tourists.
