Pune : 210 Artists Host Spectacular Exhibition of 200 Unique Paintings at Balgandharva Art Gallery

The 38th Art Exhibition of Chitrakalpa Art Institute commenced today at the renowned Balgandharva Art Gallery. The grand inauguration was graced by esteemed personalities such as Mahesh Bajirao Thorat, a renowned painter and principal of Kalasagar Kala Mahavidyalaya, Shirang Godbole, a well-known producer, writer, director, and actor, Virendra Chitrav, a celebrated organizer and environmentalist, and Milind Apte, the director of Chitrakalpa Art Institute.

The exhibition showcases an exquisite collection of over 200 diverse paintings, including Rajasthani Painting, Warli Painting, Madhubani Painting, and many more.

The artists have employed various tools like Glass Marking Pencil, Charcoal Pencil, Fabric Colour, Coffee, Ball Pen, and more to bring their creations to life. What makes this exhibition truly remarkable is the participation of artists from different age groups, ranging from 4-year-olds to 75-year-olds.

Out of the 210 talented artists who participated in the exhibition, 150 are young artists, while 60 are elderly artists. Notably, this exhibition provides a platform not only for artists from Pune but also for artists from other regions to showcase their creativity and talent.

With a rich legacy of 62 years, Chitrakalpa Art Institute was founded in 1961 by Gangadhar Apte, with a focus on imparting basic painting skills to young students. Over time, the institute expanded its horizons to encompass various forms of art, including Canvas Painting, Warli Painting, Calligraphy, and many more, establishing itself as one of Pune’s most renowned art institutes.

The exhibition, which commenced on May 29, 2023, will be open to the public until May 31, 2023, from 9:30 am to 8.30 pm at Balgandharva Art Gallery.
