The Lonavala Police Station in Pune rural police has filed cases against 26 tourists who put their lives in danger by having a good time at the waterfall area of Sahara Bridge. Recently, a tragic incident occurred where five members of the same family were carried away by the overflowing water of the Bhushi Dam. Many tourists from different parts of Maharashtra, including Pune and Mumbai, flock to Lonavala in large numbers during the rainy season. Despite the risks to their safety, people often take photos with their mobile phones in these dangerous areas.

Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase has instructed the police to take action against tourists who put their lives at risk by ignoring safety warnings. Prohibitory orders have been enforced at tourist destinations in the district, including Lonavala and Khandala. On Sunday, Lonavala police filed cases against 26 tourists from four different groups who were breaking the orders by causing trouble at the waterfall area near Sahara Bridge.

This action was carried out under the supervision of Pune rural SP Pankaj Deshmukh. Police Inspector Suhas Jagtap is looking into the issue. Police Constables Hanumant Shinde and Raees Mulani lodged individual complaints.
