Pune, October 17, 2025: A massive public outreach program or ‘Jansanvad’ led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in Rahatani witnessed an overwhelming response, with citizens submitting a staggering 3,000 complaints during the session. In a significant move, immediate decisions were taken on 1,200 of these grievances on the spot, with officials from various departments present at the event directed to initiate action.

The complaints covered a wide spectrum of local issues, including revenue, social welfare, health, water supply, electricity distribution, construction permits, police, traffic, and cooperative societies. It is estimated that each department received approximately 200 applications.

This event in Chinchwad marked the fourth such program in the state’s ongoing ‘Jansanvad’ series. With previous sessions in Hadapsar, Pimpri, and Khadakwasla, the initiative has now received a total of 15,000 complaints from citizens, of which 6,200 have been resolved promptly. A follow-up on the remaining complaints is underway through the respective departmental offices.

Illegal Land Deals and Digital Push

The event served as a platform for direct interaction between citizens, officers, and public representatives. To streamline the process, facilities for lodging complaints and checking their status were made available through WhatsApp chatbots, helpline numbers, and digital kiosks.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy CM Pawar made a crucial announcement, warning citizens about illegal transactions of PMRDA land. “We have registered every application and directed the concerned departments,” Pawar stated. “There have been complaints about illegal buying and selling of land owned by PMRDA. It is wrong to purchase such land. Citizens should remain vigilant.”

Assuring the public of a rigorous follow-up, he added, “A strict follow-up will be conducted on all applications. I cannot promise that a hundred percent of the work will be completed, but I will strive to get as much work done as possible through the coordination of senior officials.”

The event underscored the government’s efforts to bridge the gap between the administration and the public, while also highlighting critical issues like land fraud that require citizen awareness.
