Pune: A seven-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack in the Shirur taluka of Pune district, an official reported on Sunday. The tragic incident took place on Friday in Mandavgan Pharata village when the child, identified as Vansh Rajkumar Singh, was near a sugarcane field.
According to officials, Vansh’s parents, originally from Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, had relocated to Shirur tehsil to work in a jaggery production unit.
“On Friday night, following a dispute between his parents, Vansh left the house and walked towards a nearby sugarcane field. It was there that a leopard attacked him, leading to his death. The factory manager later informed the police about the incident,” said a forest department official.
