Pune ACB Catches MSEDCL Additional Executive Engineer From Hadapsar Red-Handed Accepting ₹7,500 Bribe
Pune, June 4, 2026: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Pune, has trapped and arrested an Additional Executive Engineer of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹7,500 from an electrical sub-contractor in Pune.
The accused has been identified as Ramchandra Narayan Londhe (42), an Additional Executive Engineer (Class-I) posted at MSEDCL’s Hadapsar Sub-Division-2 office in Pune. A case is being registered against him under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, at Fursungi Police Station.

According to the ACB, the complainant, a 43-year-old electrical sub-contractor who undertakes work for MSEDCL, had completed the installation of 12 new electricity meter connections. Londhe allegedly demanded ₹1,000 per meter, amounting to ₹12,000, for processing the work.
The complainant also alleged that Londhe had demanded ₹50,000 in connection with another electricity connection project for a newly constructed building. Based on these allegations, the complainant approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Pune, on June 2, 2026.
During the verification process conducted by ACB officials on June 2, the accused allegedly confirmed the demand of ₹12,000 and admitted to having already received ₹4,500 from the complainant. He subsequently demanded the remaining ₹7,500.
Following confirmation of the bribe demand, the ACB laid a trap on June 4, 2026. At around 1:06 pm, Londhe allegedly accepted ₹7,500 from the complainant at the MSEDCL Hadapsar Sub-Division-2 office in Haveli taluka, Pune district, where he was caught red-handed by the ACB team.
The accused has been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The operation was carried out by the Pune unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police/Superintendent of Police Shirish Sardeshpande and Additional Superintendents of Police Ajit Patil and Arjun Bhosale.
Police Inspector Avinash Gharde and Police Inspector Sahas Hadkar conducted the action and further investigation is being carried out.
The ACB has appealed to citizens to immediately report any government official, employee, or intermediary demanding a bribe beyond the prescribed legal fee for official work.
