Pune: Additional Buses Arranged By PMPML For Raksha Bandhan On August 19
On Monday, August 19, 2024, in celebration of the Raksha Bandhan festival, PMPML (Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited) planned additional buses for passengers. This arrangement is intended to cater to the increased number of passengers traveling within Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, suburban areas, and rural regions on this day.
Every year, there is a significant rise in the number of passengers on Raksha Bandhan. To accommodate this surge, PMPML has arranged for an additional 91 buses, on top of the 1,761 buses that operate daily, bringing the total to 1,843 buses. These extra buses will be dispatched from major bus depots, including Swargate, Katraj, Upper Depot, Market Yard, Pune Municipal Corporation Building, Kothrud Depot, Warje-Malwadi, Pune Station, Wagholi, Hadapsar, Bhekrai Nagar, Shewalewadi, Saswad, Wagholi, Chinchwad, Nigdi, Alandi, Bhosari, Talegaon, Rajgurunagar, and Dehugaon.
Considering the anticipated crowd, PMPML has canceled the weekly holidays for conductors, drivers, and supervisory staff to ensure smooth passenger service. Officers have also been appointed at key depots to manage bus operations. Due to the festival falling on Monday, August 19, 2024, additional buses will be operational on August 18, 19, and 20, 2024. PMPML has deployed officers, clerks, and other employees at important stations and stops to guide passengers and manage traffic.
PMPML urges all passengers to take full advantage of this additional bus service arranged for Raksha Bandhan.
