Pune: A hiring drive conducted by Equations Work, an AI company based in Bavdhan, saw an overwhelming response, with over 1,000 engineers turning up for just 15 available positions. The unexpectedly large crowd prompted organizers to deploy bouncers to maintain order.
The recruitment event, held at A.G Trade Center, was part of an open-house placement program. A video of the event captured long queues of job seekers eager for an opportunity to join the company. Despite receiving 5,000 applications, only 700 candidates could be assessed on the day due to capacity limitations. Ultimately, just 11 applicants were offered jobs.
Vishal Adsool, Founder and CEO of Equations Work, expressed surprise at the massive turnout, comparing it to a recent viral hiring drive in Magarpatta that saw a similar rush.
The overwhelming response underscores the intense competition in the job market and the growing demand for AI-related roles in Pune’s expanding tech industry.
