Pune: Due to low visibility on Friday, December 8, many flights at the Pune airport were diverted, and more were delayed.

A Vistara Airlines flight from Delhi to Pune on Friday morning was one of the flights that was diverted from the Pune airport to Mumbai.

As per further information from the X handle of Vistara, “Flight UK971 from Delhi to Pune (DEL-PNQ) has been diverted to Mumbai (BOM) due to bad weather at Pune airport and is expected to arrive in Mumbai at 8:25 am. Please stay tuned for further updates.”

Vistara issued another update about the same flight on X “Flight UK971 which was diverted to Mumbai has departed from Mumbai at 10:10 am and is expected to arrive in Pune at 10:35 am.”

Early in the morning, visibility at the Pune airport had dropped to nearly fifty meters.

In a similar manner, about five arrivals—mostly from Delhi—and about eight departures from Pune to other cities experienced delays at the airport.

Although passengers were becoming irate and frustrated due to delays, airline representatives claimed that the effects of poor weather and low visibility were inevitable. An IndiGo passenger claimed that after the flight from Pune to Bengaluru was delayed, they had to spend an hour sitting in the aircraft.
